• The 2001 California (West Coast) Super Trainer Showdown was the last ever STS event, with over 1,040 total competitors across all age divisions.

• This tournament, like the previous Super Trainer Showdown, consisted of two one-day tournaments; one held on Saturday and run to completion and one held on Sunday and run to completion with a champion crowned in each age division each day.

• This was the only STS in which there were four age divisions. The 11-to-12 & 13-to-14 age divisions were split due largely to the overwhelming numbers in the 11-to-14 age group in the previous Super Trainer Showdown in New Jersey.
