• The 2018 Latin America International Championships was held in São Paulo for a second season in a row. Day 1 consisted of 9 rounds (Best of 3), in which 596 players competed in Day 1. Day 2 consisted of 5 additional rounds of Swiss, resulting in a cut of Top 8. Top 8 & Top 4 matches were played out that night, saving each division's finals for Championship Sunday.

Travel Stipends:
Players that earned the most amount of Championship Points by February 15, received a travel award to LAIC.
(Top 4 Players received their Travel Stipend prior to LAIC.)
(Top 16 Players received their $1,000 Travel Stipend after LAIC, but only if they competed in the event.)
(Players that had the same amount of CP as 16th Place also received a stipend.)
(Top 4 players under the age of 18 received $5,000 if IC was outside of their region, $2,500 if in their region.)
