1055 Canada Place• The 2013 Pokémon World Championships took place outside of the US for its first time ever. It was a two-day event, 3 counting the LCQ. The main event consisted of 8 Rounds, followed by a Top Cut of 16 on Sunday. 209 players competed in the main event.
• Like the Worlds before it, this year included a Last Chance Qualifier. Jason Klaczynski made history in this year by not only winning his 3rd World Championship, but fought his way through the 2013 Last Chance Qualifier just to compete in Worlds, the first ever Masters division player to do so!
~ Players with a certain amount of Championship Points were invited to Worlds.
~ Players that placed Top 'X' at their countries' National Championship, (varied by country), earned an Invitation to Worlds.
~ Players that went undefeated in the LCQ earned an automatic Invitation to Worlds.
~ Prized out as scholarships.
