801 Mount Vernon Place NW• The 2014 Pokémon World Championships took place in Washington D.C. for the first time ever. It was a two-day event, 3 counting the LCQ. The main event consisted of 7 Rounds, directly followed by a Top Cut of 8, in which the finals for each division was played out on Sunday. 231 players competed in the main event.
• This event was the last Worlds that included a Last Chance Qualifier. Each World Championships from 2004 - 2014 had an LCQ. The 2014 World's LCQ was played out on Friday and consisted of 7 rounds. Players with an undefeated record of 7-0 earned an "invitation" to compete in the World Championships the next day.
~ Players with a certain amount of Championship Points were invited to Worlds.
~ Players that placed Top 'X' at their countries' National Championship, (varied by country), earned an Invitation to Worlds.
~ Players that went undefeated in the LCQ earned an automatic Invitation to Worlds.
~ Prized out as scholarships.
