69-425 Waikōloa Beach Dr• The 2010 Pokémon World Championships took place in Hawaii for a second time. It was a two-day event, 3 counting the LCQ. The main event consisted of 8 Rounds, followed by a Top Cut of 32 on Sunday. 115 players competed in the main event.
• Like the Worlds before it, this year included a Last Chance Qualifier. LCQ competitors played 6 rounds on Friday, of which only players with an undefeated record of 6-0 earned a Last Chance Invite.
• This Worlds, just like the 2009 World Championships, utilised the same set rotation of Diamond & Pearl-on.
• Yuta Komatsuda won his World Champion title with an undefeated record of 12-0! (Note: there were no ties in events at this time.)
~ Players with the highest "ELO" Premier Rating by the end of the season earned an invitation to Worlds. (North America - Top 25 players, Europe - Top 20 players, APAC - Top 4 players, Latin America - Top 2 players)
~ Players that placed Top 'X' at their countries' National Championship, (varied by country), earned an Invitation to Worlds. (ex. Top 8 players at NA Nats, Top 4 at UK Nats)
~ Players that went undefeated in the LCQ earned an automatic Invitation to Worlds.
~ Prized out as scholarships.
